Beach front, Village, East Wittering
Pet Friendly, Secure garden, WiFi
Note: All three bedrooms are old railway carriages. They have loads of character but are on the small side.

Sheridan is a much-loved beachfront retreat bursting at the seams with charm and character. Set directly on the beach in East Wittering, Sheridan started life as two railway carriages dashing about the English countryside in the 1890’s. In the 1930’s the carriages were laid to rest here on the seafront and converted into a coastal holiday cottage. Sheridan has been enjoyed by six generations of one family and has only recently been made available to guests who are looking for a little taste of South Coast holiday history.

The property sleeps up to six guests and whilst it is not lacking in character or location, it is quite cosy. Sheridan is a single story property with three bedrooms. One of the doubles is next to the verandah room and enjoys views out to sea. It even has an old railway carriage door which is still in perfect working order, complete with slide down window and lever door which opens into the veranda room. The second double is separated from the first by a small corridor and faces the rear of the proeprty. The third bedroom is a small twin room, ideally suited to chidlren but the beds are full sized so are perfectly comfortable for adults if required. The cottage has just one shower room and a separate WC and as such is recommended for just four adults guests or a combination of adults and children.

The galley kitchen has been recently renovated and is in both excellent working order and very well equipped. The sitting room is cosy and characterful with electic fire and a comfortable sofa and arm chair. Dining is in the veranda room with spectacular views out to sea. Double doors take you out onto a large lawn and patio area where you can enjoy a BBQ in the summer. With direct access onto the beachfront, what more could you wish for! Parking is limited but there is space for at least two vehicles.

If you’re looking for shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy, East Wittering village is a two-minute stroll away. Perfect for a small family or group of friends, Sheridan offers exactly what it says on the tin – beachfront living! Dogs are welcome too.

** Please note that Sheridan does not have a washing machine or tumble dryer. There is a laundrette in the village called Seabreeze at 8 Oakfield Road. **

This was a very special year for myself and my husband and part of our celebrations was bringing together three generations for a family holiday – so we were looking for special accommodation and Number 24 did not disappoint. Thank you Amanda for your clear and helpful communication – we hope to holiday with Windbreaks and Wellies in the future

Nicola McCarthy, Owner
Wellies & Windbreaks has been managing our two rental properties for a couple of years now and we have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Amanda. Lettings have been good and whenever there is an issue at either house, Amanda is quick to remedy it in a professional and efficient manner
Gillian Morrison, Property Owner
Amanda is such a pleasure to deal with.  She is super efficient and nothing is too much bother.  Whether its taking bookings, dealing with cleaners or other management aspects, Amanda is incredibly quick to get onto things and never lets anything drop. Always on. And always with a smile!
Guest at Number Six
We had a wonderful stay here. Four adults and one baby. The house was excellent, and everything that you needed was provided. It is in a great location within walking distance of the sea at Bosham. A very good pub, cafe and craft centre can be found there. At the end of the road is a hotel with an excellent restaurant. The agent Amanda went above and beyond. Anything you needed was sorted out immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend this property
